Outland Sales manufactures three variations of high end 22 rim-fire magnum ammunition, all with a 35 grain Hornady V-Max ballistic tipped projectile, and the projectiles can be either uncoated or molybdenum disulfide coated. The coating acts as a lubricant which fills in the microscopic pores in the rifling, and can aid in accuracy in worn barrels. The coating generally adds about 20 FPS to projectile velocity. Expected muzzle velocity is 2045 FPS for the uncoated projectile, 2065 for coated.
The third round we offer is called the Coyote Killer, and uses a compressed powder load for maximum pressure and velocity, providing approximately 40 extra yards of accurate range. The muzzle velocity is approximately 2265 FPS with coated projectiles. Because this is a compressed load, the overall length is .007 inches longer than standard ammunition, and it may not cycle well in some semi-automatics weapons.
Later in the 2006, a fourth variation using a 55 grain Hornady ballistic tipped projectile will be tested for expected release in the third quarter.
